Action Planning in Wielkopolska Region, Poland

The Wielkopolska region as the second largest region of Poland. The Marshall office of the Wielkopolska Region is closing landfills that not fulfill minimum environmental requirements. Wielkopolska Region has selected 6 recently closed, and poorly rehabilitated old landfills for  reclamation and redevelopment in SufalNet4EU.

Landfill Granowo, Granowo community (4,2 hectares)
This landfill in the west part of Granowo is surrounded by agriculture area; green area and recreational area. The surface of the landfill requires safe closure and reclamation. Although the Granowo community has not yet defined the land use a public park with ponds, cycling roads, playground for children, luge track has been suggested.

Landfill Anielin, Okonek community (1,1 hectares)
This landfill is surrounded by forests and agriculture area. It is located far from
the Okonek town. Because forestation of degraded area is prioritised by the Wielkopolska Region forestation as the landfill development is indicated.

Landfill Bagdad, Wyrzysk community (1 hectare)
This landfill is also surrounded by forests, wasteland and small business area. It is located far from residential area. Landfill closure and technical design indicates forestation of deciduous tree species.

Landfill Krajenka, Krajenka community (3,3 hectares)
The Krajenka landfill is surrounded by forests. A preliminary study indicates the landfill as a source of ground water pollution. Closure and reclamation is required. The landfill will be planted in accordance with the natural shape of the surrounding with deciduous tree species.

Landfill Łubnica, Wielichowo community (1,8 hectares)
The Łubnica landfill is also surrounded by forests and agricultural area. Forestry is indicated fort this landfill.

Landfill Śniaty, Wielichowo community (1,5 hectares)
This landfill is also surrounded by forests, far from residential areas. The two options of development are discussed: 1) forestation 2) sport and recreational area – motorcycle (quad) track.
